SB/MGMT 3100 3.00   Business Administration and the Law


Course Description:

This course familiarizes students with basic legal concepts and principles relevant to business administration. Topics include: the Canadian judicial system; contract law; tort law (including negligence, product liability and defamation); forms of carrying on business (including sole proprietorships, partnerships and corporations); bailment, agency and employment law; real property and mortgage law; and intellectual property law (including trademarks, copyright and patents). Course Credit Exclusion: AS/ECON 4500 3.00 (prior to Fall 2009), AS/ECON 4510 3.00 (prior to Fall 2009), AP/POLS 3165 3.00 (Formerly: AS/POLS 3165 3.00), and AP/SOSC 3165 3.00 (Formerly: AS/SOSC 3165 3.00)
