FA/VISA 1006 3.00   The Photographic Experience

Course Description:

This fully online course provides non-majors with an introduction to photographic concepts, theories and practices using personal Smartphone cameras. Students participate in online classes comprised of lectures, readings, personal reflections, artist examples, image analysis and photographic assignments. Basic photographic techniques, creative methods, concepts and contemporary modes of mobile image creation are explored. A Smartphone equipped with a camera is required. Students looking for more advanced camera skills using a DSLR or mirrorless camera should enrol in VISA 2061. This course cannot be used as a prerequisite for 3000 level photography courses. Course credit exclusions: FA/VISA 1006 6.00, VISA 2061 3:00. Open to non-majors only.
