AP/INDG 4770 6.00   First Nations Music and Cultural Regeneration

Course Description:

This is a music appreciation course¬óno prior knowledge of music is required. The course examines various forms of Indigenous music in Canada and the United States, from traditional to contemporary, including protest music, blues, rock and hiphop, and the role music has played in maintaining communities, engaging in social commentary, promoting cultural regeneration, and recreating sovereignty. Course credit exclusion: AP/MIST 4770 3.00. Previously offered as: AP/REI 4770 3.00, AP/MIST 4770 6.00
